Terms & Conditions

Last updated: 22 August 2026

1. Introduction

These Terms and Conditions govern your enrollment and participation in courses offered by Assembly ("we", "us", "our"). By enrolling in our courses, you agree to be bound by these terms.

2. Enrollment

2.1 Eligibility: Our courses are designed for young people aged 5-18. Age requirements may vary by course.

2.2 Registration: Enrollment is confirmed upon receipt of payment and completion of the enrollment form.

2.3 Capacity: Places are limited and allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.

2.4 Waitlist: If a course is full, you may join the waitlist. We will contact you if a place becomes available.

3. Fees & Payment

3.1 Course Fees: All fees are listed in Australian Dollars (AUD) and include GST where applicable.

3.2 Payment: Full payment is required at the time of enrollment unless otherwise arranged.

3.3 Payment Plans: Payment plans may be available for certain courses. Please contact us to discuss options.

3.4 Materials: All materials and equipment are included in the course fee unless otherwise stated.

4. Cancellations & Refunds

4.1 Student Cancellation:

  • More than 14 days before course start: Full refund minus $50 administration fee
  • 7-14 days before course start: 50% refund
  • Less than 7 days before course start: No refund

4.2 Assembly Cancellation: If we cancel a course, you will receive a full refund or credit toward another program.

4.3 Missed Classes: No refunds or credits are provided for missed classes due to student absence.

4.4 Medical/Emergency: Refunds for medical or emergency situations will be considered on a case-by-case basis with appropriate documentation.

5. Attendance & Participation

5.1 Attendance: Regular attendance is expected. Please notify us in advance if your child will be absent.

5.2 Late Arrival/Early Departure: Please inform us if your child will arrive late or need to leave early.

5.3 Behavior: Students are expected to be respectful, engaged, and follow studio guidelines. We reserve the right to remove students who disrupt the learning environment.

6. Health & Safety

6.1 Medical Information: Parents/guardians must disclose any medical conditions, allergies, or special needs during enrollment.

6.2 Emergency Contact: You must provide current emergency contact information.

6.3 Supervision: Students are supervised during class times only. Parents/guardians are responsible for drop-off and pick-up.

6.4 Equipment Use: Students must follow safety guidelines when using studio equipment and materials.

7. Intellectual Property & Student Work

7.1 Ownership: Students retain full ownership and copyright of the work they create during Assembly courses. Nothing in these terms transfers that ownership to Assembly.

7.2 License to Use Student Work: By enrolling your child, you grant Assembly a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to photograph, scan, reproduce, and display your child's work — in the studio, at our end-of-term exhibitions, on our website, and in our promotional, archival, and educational materials. This is a license, not a transfer of ownership. You can withdraw it at any time by contacting studio@assembly.net.au; we will remove existing public uses within a reasonable timeframe.

7.3 Photography & Video Consent: We photograph and film classes and exhibitions for documentation, marketing, and our records. We ask for your explicit opt-in consent to this during enrolment — it's off by default and only applies if you actively agree. You can change your answer at any time by contacting us.

7.4 If You Don't Consent: Your child can still enrol in Assembly courses if you don't consent to 7.2 or 7.3. We'll take reasonable steps to exclude their identifiable work and image from public-facing use. We can't fully guarantee exclusion from incidental appearances in group photos or video taken at exhibitions, but we will not feature them individually or by name.

8. Liability

8.1 Personal Property: Assembly is not responsible for loss or damage to personal property.

8.2 Injury: While we take all reasonable precautions, Assembly is not liable for injuries sustained during courses except where caused by our negligence.

8.3 Insurance: We maintain public liability insurance. Parents/guardians are responsible for their child's personal accident insurance.

9. Privacy

We collect and handle personal information in accordance with our Privacy Policy. By enrolling, you consent to the collection and use of information as described in our Privacy Policy.

10. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time. Changes will be posted on our website and apply to future enrollments.

11. Program Changes

We reserve the right to make changes to program content, schedules, or instructors as necessary. We will notify enrolled students of any significant changes.
